Effective careers planning means exploring your options early. Our careers team are here to help. Whatever your age, course of study, plans or aspirations, the Careers Service is available to you. Professionally qualified careers advisers are available for consultation on career choice, further study options, presentation and other work place skills, jobsearch, applications/interview procedures and aptitude tests.
The Career Guidance Office contains a wide range of information on careers and further study options. Comprehensive information, internet access, computerised guidance programmes, video library etc., are all available to our students.

Career News for February
The late application facility system will open at 12 noon on March 5th.
If you are applying under the HEAR or DARE schemes you have to complete online application forms through the CAO by March 1st. The supporting documentation required for both must be submitted to the CAO by April 1st.
The route B deadline for submission of applications to UK colleges is March 24th this is chiefly for art and performing arts courses.
MSAP (Mature Student Assessment Pathway)
The MSAP is the entrance test for students applying for mature student places on courses in the UCC Arts Faculty and some other colleges. The MSAP will be held in UCC on March 9th.
The closing date for registering for the MSAP is February 3rd, though late registration is possible until February 17th with a higher fee. You register online for MSAP through https://msap-ireland.acer.edu.au. You will require a CAO application number in order to register for the MSAP.
Advanced entry to Institutes of Technology
For advanced entry (second year and beyond) to CIT courses application is now made through the CAO.
For advanced entry to most other Institutes of Technology students will apply direct to the Colleges. For more information please contact the Career’s Office.
CIT Cork Colleges Progression Scheme
Students wishing to apply for linked CIT courses through the CCPS can do so online through the CIT website (www.cit.ie/prospectivestudents/ccps). You will need both your PPS and CAO numbers to complete the form. The deadline for applying is May 1st.
