Effective careers planning means exploring your options early. Our careers team are here to help. Whatever your age, course of study, plans or aspirations, the Careers Service is available to you. Professionally qualified careers advisers are available for consultation on career choice, further study options, presentation and other work place skills, jobsearch, applications/interview procedures and aptitude tests.
The Career Guidance Office contains a wide range of information on careers and further study options. Comprehensive information, internet access, computerised guidance programmes, video library etc., are all available to our students.

Applications to CSN
The online application system is now open for those interested in applying for level 5 and 6 CSN courses. To apply complete the application form on the college website, www.csn.ie.
CAO
The closing date for the mature student section of the application form, amending course choices, and completion of online DARE and HEAR forms is March 1st at 17.15.
A restricted course (mainly, Music, Art and Performing Arts courses) can be added to an existing CAO application up to March 1st. This is the last opportunity to add a restricted course to your application.
The supporting documentation required for both HEAR and DARE schemes must arrive at the CAO by 17.15 on March 15th.
The CAO late application system will open on March 5th at 12 noon.
CIT (MTU) Cork Colleges Progression Scheme
For this entry route into CIT/MTU you apply online through the CCPS section of the CIT website. You will need your CAO application number and PPS number to complete the form. The deadline for applying is May 1st. Please contact your Guidance Counsellor for information and assistance.
WIT/Cork ETB Progression Scheme
Please contact the Career’s Office if you have applied for courses in WIT as you may be eligible for entry under the WIT/Cork ETB Progression scheme. The College needs to send WIT details of CSN students applying under the scheme.
Advanced entry to Institutes of Technology
For advanced entry to most Institutes of Technology courses students apply direct to the relevant college. For a small number of Colleges including CIT/MTU application is through the CAO website.
