Using Webmail to access your CSN E-mail (Staff Only)
If you own a personal computer, have access to a work-based computer or own a smartphone/tablet device but don't want to use an email client like MS Outlook, you can still access your CSN email via the college’s on-line ‘WebMail’ interface. To do this, open a web browser on the computer system or device and navigate to the following website:
Entering this URL into the browser's address bar will present you with the following dialog box, asking you to log-in to our cloud based server for security purposes:
To access your email you must provide legitimate log-in details to authenticate your account. These log-in details are your CSN email account details, as used on the college's staff network.
In the textbox marked 'User Name', just enter your full CSN e-mail account.
Note: all CSN email accounts are a combination of the first letter of your first name, a period, followed by your surname (minus apotrophes, hyphens, etc). For example, if your name is 'John Smith' your CSN email account would be email@example.com.
Once this is done, you must provide your password in the relevant password textbox. If your account details are correct, you will be presented with the following screen:
From here it is possible to change your password at any time. Frequent password changes are recommended in the interests of personal security. Remember, this is your CSN email account so please choose new passwords carefully! To change your password click the 'Change Password' icon as highlighted below:
Once you have clicked the 'Change Password' icon you will be brought to the following screen:
Simply enter your new password twice and click the Change Password button to effect the changes. If all is well you will receive immediate confirmation that your password has been changed. Click on the Go Back link to return to the email login client page.
Now that you have logged in successfully (and perhpas have changed your password), you can choose any of three separate webmail clients to begin browsing your email, i.e., Horde, SquirrelMail or RoundCube. Any of these email clients will work and it is up to you to choose which one you prefer. For simplicity of use, we highly recommend using RoundCube.
Click on the relevant client app to open your mailbox. For example, choose ‘Read Mail Using RoundCube’ to gain access to your inbox. Once you do this you will be brought to a screen similar to the one shown below:
You can now use the email client to read, create and send emails!
